The Black College Expo (BCE) will return once again to Oakland, celebrating 13 years of helping over 375,000 students get into college. The expo will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Oakland Marriott City Center, with a Celebrity hosted Step Show from 3-5 p.m. The mission this year is to provide on-the-spot resources to help students and their families realize their dream of going to college and becoming successful students. A list of hot topic seminars will be presented to include, Hot Careers , Financial Literacy , Finding Money for College , 411 for the Student Athlete and Real Talk Students will meet with various colleges, including 30+ historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). 11th and 12th grade students will have the opportunity to get accepted on the spot and get scholarships too. We call it the Black College Expo because we highlight the Historically Black Colleges/Universities (HBCUs), but the expo will have Colleges & Universities from all over the United States in attendance!
