School Regions & Networks

OUSD uses three regional zones to manage resources and assets in service of children, youth, and families. Each regional governance team is led by the Regional PK-8 Executive Officer (REXO). Our high schools continue to be managed by one High School Network, headed by a Network Executive Officer (NEXO).

OUSD's REXOs and NEXOs expect, advocate for, and demand effective service for children, families, and educators in ways that produce highly positive academic and social outcomes in every neighborhood in Oakland. Principals report into these Executive Officers, and our REXOs and NEXOs provide management and support to each school based on its individual performance, culture, programs, needs, and capacity.
