At Melrose Leadership Academy, we provide students with a place where they are respected, challenged academically, safe and able to develop the leadership qualities necessary to actively participate in the transformation of their school and community. We believe that education should build confidence, integrity, limitless imagination, creativity and should promote social justice. MLA has a great staff of dedicated professionals who hold students to high academic and behavioral standards. School hours are from 8:30-5:00. Students are required to come in uniform every day. MLA students develop an exit portfolio. At the end of 8th grade, they present their portfolios as part of the promotion process. When enrolling a child at MLA, parents agree to a minimum of 2 hours of volunteer time per month. Students receive instruction in Math, Science, Humanities, Art and Athletics. We offer additional electives from 5:00-6:00 and during Wednesday minimum days.
